There's been a great deal of talk over whether or not (with most people saying not) Milwaukee is a good for fit for Chinese basketball star Yi Jianlian. The Bucks chose Yi as the sixth overall pick in the NBA Draft. Most folks have been skeptical over whether or not he'd actually play for Milwaukee, having repeatedly expressed interest in playing for a city with a large Asian American population. Let's face it, Milwaukee is not an American city that immediately comes to mind when you think of lots of Asian people. This writer, however, makes the case for Milwaukee as an ideal place for the Yi Jianlian: Yi should meet his match

In other sports news, the Atlanta Falcons have signed wide receiver Noriaki Kinoshita, a native of Osaka, Japan who played the last three years with the Amsterdam Admirals of NFL Europa: Falcons sign Japanese receiver from NFL Europa. He's actually the second player from Japan to sign with the Falcons. The first, tight end Nachi Abe, lasted 10 days in the 2000 preseason. Hopefully, Kinoshita will last a little longer.

Meanwhile, South Korean golfer KJ Choi is kicking some ass, winning the AT&T National on Sunday: Choi gets second PGA Tour win of season with AT&T National victory. It's his second PGA Tour win this season. That's six total Tour wins—the most victories by an Asian-born player. His next goal is to become the first Asian player to win a major.
