bollywood goes chopsocky: chandni chowk to china

What the... I just watched the trailer for Chandni Chowk to China. I have no idea what I just saw, but it looks absolutely insane. Produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, it appears to be a Bollywood chop-socky action comedy starring Akshay Kumar, with kung fu star Gordon Liu.

In the movie, a cook from Chandni Chowk is mistaken for the reincarnation of an ancient Chinese warrior by the villagers of an oppressed Chinese village. Kung fu craziness ensues. It looks like they've taken some cues from Kung Fu Hustle and about a dozen other martial arts flicks.

This is either going to be really bad, or really... I don't even know. It's Bollywood, yet it's Hollywood, and all the exploitation that goes along with it. It's trippin' me out. Just watch the trailer. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on January 16 (in India). I will have to seek it out eventually, because it just looks too strange not to watch.
