immigrant stories from the 5%

Immigrant Stories From the 5% is a recently launched interactive online space to collect and broadcast the stories of Asian and Pacific Islander immigrants and their descendants. Part of the goal is change the dominant mainstream narrative that all immigrants are Latinos.

How did you and your family come to America? Join others by sharing your immigrant story on the Facebook wall.

It can be as short as "I came on student visa in 1980 and and became a naturalized citizen 10 years later." That's just one of the many examples, so be creative. Also, check out the Wall to see examples from others.

If you'd like to share your story anonymously, you can send an email to storiesfromthefivepercent@gmail.com, and they'll post your story in the Notes section. For more information, go to the Immigrant Stories From The 5% Facebook page here.
