2010 asian american music festival

Got word the other day about this awesome event in the works this fall... This October in Los Angeles, prepare yourself for the 2010 Asian American Music Festival (in Five Movements), celebrating the artistic and creative achievements of Asian American, Asian, and Asian Pacific Islander artists in all genres of music. It's happening October 15-17 at the Japanese American National Museum.

And they've got an awesome lineup! Headliners include ukulele virtuoso Jake Shimabukuro, hip-hop artist Shing02, and international songstress Charmaine Clamor, as well as other Asian American artists we know and love like Jon Jang, Dana Leong, Kero One, Gary Fukushima, Abe Lagrimas, Jr., Noel Okimoto, Emi Meyer, Shanghai Restoration Project, and Sachal Vasandani:

In short, this event is going to be fairly kickass. Make your plans now. This year's festival has evolved and expanded from its previous incarnation, the Asian American Jazz Festival, and it looks like the organizers are trying to embrace a diversity of styles and genres.
