writer alan yang signs project deal with universal media studios

Saw this on Deadline Hollywood, via Twitter... Alan Yang, writer/producer on the NBC comedy Parks and Recreation, has signed a two-year overall deal to develop new projects for Universal Media Studios: 'Parks & Rec' Writer Inks Deal With UMS.

Yang, who was named one of 10 Screenwriters to Watch by Variety last year, also has several feature projects in the works, including Jackpot at Fox, We Love You at Summit and White Dad at Sony. His previous credits include Last Call with Carson Daly and South Park.

Not bad for a guy studied biology at Harvard and was once considering giving up on the writing thing for a career in law. He even almost took the LSAT. He's a funny guy. You can follow Alan Yang on Twitter here.
