He'll be there as a visiting author as part of the week-long Storytellers Unite event. Here are a few details about Gene's reading:

Award-winning children’s authors gather at Hamline; hold public readings for kids and adults

Some of the best authors of literature for young people are sharing their creations through free public events January 7-16, 2011 at Hamline. The events include readings of published works by guest authors and faculty in Hamline’s Master of Fine Arts in Writing for Children and Young Adults (MFAC) program. The events are a component of the January residency for students in the MFAC program.
