The University of Florida is searching for a Director of APIA Affairs, who will also serve as Assistant Director of Multicultural and Diversity Affairs in the Division of Student Affairs, and will be responsible for the support of the Asian Pacific Islander American community through programming, education, alumni networks, mentoring and leadership development. The Assistant Director of Multicultural and Diversity Affairs is a vital member of Multicultural and Diversity Affairs in the Division of Student Affairs. This position provides leadership, education, and services for the students regarding multicultural awareness and by creating an inclusive campus community. The Assistant Director coordinates and plans multicultural and intercultural education activities, trainings and programs for the campus community that educate and promote awareness, understanding and appreciation of diversity and multiculturalism on campus. The Assistant Director is also responsible for the support of the Asian Pacific Islander American community through programming, education, alumni networks, mentoring and leadership development.

- The Assistant Director serves on the leadership team of Multicultural and Diversity Affairs to provide leadership that serves students through programming, services and advocacy. As a member of the team, the Assistant Director assists with strategic planning, programming, budgeting, and collaboration.

- The Assistant Director of Multicultural & Diversity Affairs supports the mission by creating inclusive environments by educating the campus community about the culture, heritage and diversity of multiple identities. The Assistant Director coordinates and plans multicultural and intercultural education activities, trainings and programs for the campus community that educates and promotes awareness, understanding and appreciation of diversity and multiculturalism on campus. The Assistant Director is responsible for developing and implementing programs, activities and services within Multicultural & Diversity Affairs, including social/academic initiatives, scholarships programs, mentoring, and a regional leadership conference.

- The Assistant Director is responsible for overall support of the Asian Pacific Islander American community, education, development of alumni and other support, and the establishment of liaison relationships with various offices and departments. Works closely with student organizations.

- The Assistant Director will act as a student advocate on issues, concerns, and problems related to student life and will support various student organizations and leaders.

- The Assistant Director assists with selecting, hiring, training and supervising a graduate assistant, student assistants and volunteers.

- Manage a budget with multiple accounts of approximately $8,000.

- The Assistant Director will assist with assessment projects and evaluating programs that address the needs of multicultural students at the university.

- The Assistant Director serves on university, division and departmental committees and interprets University policy to students, student groups, faculty, staff, parents and the general public.
