ds2dio presents remixed feat. mike song & mike tompkins

DS2DIO, the "Dance Lifestyle Channel" created by director Jon M. Chu, has officially launched with the premiere of Remixed. The show, created and produced by Harry Shum Jr., brings together a dancer and a musician to collaborate for a unique, one-of-a-kind performance.

The first episode pairs dancer/choreographer Mike Song with beatboxer Mike Tompkins, and it's pretty damn awesome. Check it out:

Amazing. This is the start of something really extraordinary. On his Tumblr, Harry Shum Jr. explains his inspiration for creating Remixed:
With the show "Remixed" I wanted to couple up a talented musician/singer and an amazing dancer and have them collaborate on a one of a kind stage performance. Music appreciates dance and dance appreciates music but this would be a moment where artists can tell their stories and dive into a new world of inspiration between the two. My hope is for "Remixed" to remix peoples perception of music and dance and spark conversation or better yet, inspire people to create more remixes with art. Even people who don’t dance or feel as if they don’t have a single rhythm in their bones should not feel like they aren't allowed to. Remix it so it makes you feel comfortable whether it’s throwing on your favorite record and move your body to the music in your bedroom. If it makes you feel something, then why not? Movement is meant to move you. Emotionally or physically. A simple finger tap or a giant leap off the ground, as the world famous shoe company reminds us in their ads, just do it.
Also watch a cool featurette with Harry here. Future episodes, premiering every Monday, will include collaborations between Madd Chadd & Paul Dateh, Jillian Meyers & Clara C, and more. Can't wait to see them. For more information, and to subscribe, go to the DS2DIO YouTube channel here.
