The White Initiative on Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders invite you to the Midwest Regional Action Summit, a day of open dialogue where you can engage directly with Obama Administration Officials and learn how they are working to meet the needs of the AAPI community.

It's happening Friday, July 13 at Ohio State University's Meiling Hall. Here are some more details about the event:

  • Discuss efforts on improving language access, civil rights, and immigration policy with Ronald Lee, Trial Attorney, Department of Justice, and Juliet Choi, Chief of Staff and Senior Advisor, Office of Civil Rights, Department of Health and Human Services.


  • Join a discussion on weathering the foreclosure crisis and learn how to avoid foreclosure, prevent loan modification fraud, and manage landlord foreclosure with Thomas Leach, Field Office Director, Department of Housing and Urban Development.


  • Learn how the federal government is protecting AAPIs and also promoting access to secondary and higher education with Don Yu, Special Advisor to the Secretary, Department of Education, and Meena Morey Chandra, Supervising Attorney, Office of Civil Rights, Department of Education.


  • Learn how federal and community resources are addressing health disparities and improving access to health care with Kenneth Munson, Region V Director, Department of Health and Human Services, and Mildred Hunter, Region V Minority Health Consultant, Department of Health and Human Services.


  • Engage with federal officials on accessing federal resources, growing your business by contracting with the U.S. government, exporting, and finding new sources of capital with the Small Business Administration.
