army reserve officer commits suicide at gun range

Some tragic news of a suicide in Virginia... Last week in Colonial Heights, a military officer was found dead at a gun range. He apparently killed himself: Man who died at Colonial Heights shooting range identified as Fort Lee officer.

Second Lieutenant James R. Cho, a 26-year-old U.S. Army Reserve officer stationed at Fort Lee, died of what has been determined as a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Employees at The Smoking Gun shooting range discovered his body after hearing a gunshot:
Fort Lee officials said 2nd Lt. James R. Cho, 26, whose home address was listed as LaGrange, Ill., was a U.S. Army Reserve officer who entered service in January 2011. He was attending the Quartermaster Basic Officer Leader Course and assigned to Bravo Company, 71st Transportation Battalion, U.S. Army Logistics University, since June 2012.

Colonial Heights police said they are investigating whether Cho died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police said Cho was a customer at The Smoking Gun shooting range at 127 Boulevard when the shooting took place about 7 p.m. He was the only person on the range at the time, and employees discovered his body after hearing a gunshot.
Police are saying there wasn't any foul play involved with his death. Cho was reportedly under an Army investigation for an alleged criminal act, but news reports aren't disclosing any other details. More here: Gun range owner haunted by recent suicide on premises.
