Research Survey: APA LGBTQ Mental Health Outcomes

Hey, how about helping out some grad students? Patty Chung, Marissa Lee, and Joanna Tol are Master's of Social Welfare candidates at UCLA. They're currently conducting a research project on Asian Pacific American LGBTQ individuals' wellness outcomes, with a focus on parental relationships, and are asking eligible folks complete a research survey.

If you are at least 18 years old, identify as API LGBTQ, and reside in the United States, please consider participating in the "The QAPI Study." It should take you about 30-40 minutes to complete. Here are some more details about the study:

Asian American graduate student researchers from the UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs Department of Social Welfare are conducting a study of adult Asian Pacific Islander Americans (APIA) who are Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer (LGBTQ) and their parental relationships to understand the stressors and resilience factors influencing the mental health and emotional well being of APIA LGBTQ individuals.

The aim of this study is to capture more information on APIA LGBTQ individuals and their mental health outcomes. The data collected in this survey will be used to produce a comprehensive report containing data on the API LGBTQ community that will inform the development of culturally competent mental health services and mental health policy. The survey will be the first of its kind to collect national data on mental health outcomes on the API LGBTQ individuals, filling a crucial information gap.

Anyone can participate who is 18 years of age, identifies as API LGBTQ, and resides in the U.S. If you meet these criteria, we would greatly appreciate your participation. We need as many people from different sociodemographic strata as possible to collect a comprehensive data set. The survey will take approximately 30-40 minutes. At the end of the survey, you may enter an optional lottery to win one of five $50 amazon.com gift cards!
