Angry Reader of the Week: Marian Bacol-Uba

Hey everybody! Once again, it's time for you to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Marian Bacol-Uba.

Who are you?

I'm Marian Bacol-Uba aka Marian the Foodie; a freelance marketing/social media consultant for the restaurants/food/drink industry as well as a food & travel blogger. I am also the LA Chapter President for a national non-profit organization called Project by Project!

What are you?

Someone very passionate about food/drink, travel and making a difference in the APIA community. I'm also an awesome daughter, sister and friend. =)

Where are you?

Currently on my laptop inside the Starbucks in Sherman Oaks.

Where are you from?

I was born in the Philippines. Lived in Los Angeles since I was 4. In between then and now, I was in Orange County for 9 years and also lived abroad to study in Singapore and Shanghai, China.

What do you do?

What do I not do?! Haha! I juggle so many things but they all revolve around my passions and intertwine with each other nicely. I am a freelance marketing/social media consultant, food and travel blogger and I am in the process of launching a new Special Events, Marketing and Promotions company. I am also heavily involved with Project by Project (PbP). PbP is a national volunteer organization of social entrepreneurs focusing on issues relating to the Asian American community. We also focus on leadership development amongst our members. PbP's signature event is an annual food tasting benefit called Plate by Plate. This year it will be on Saturday, August 3 (tickets on sale now!) at the Vibiana in DTLA. It's a fun event, all you can eat and drink from some of LA's top restaurants and 100% of net ticket proceeds goes to our 2013 partner, East West Players. Plate by Plate was actually the reason why I joined PbP. Figures... it's food related! =)

What are you all about?

I'm all about investing my time and energy into people and passions that bring true happiness to me and my loved ones.

What makes you angry?

Ignorance. Intolerance. Child and animal abuse. Inconsiderate, selfish and disrespectful people. Also when my car gets bird bombed right after I just took it to the car wash.
