Foxy Lady: Arden Cho joins the cast of MTV's Teen Wolf

Some cool casting news, particularly because it involves a friend... Looks like actress Arden Cho will star as a significant upcoming new character on the MTV supernatural drama Teen Wolf: Teen Wolf Casting Scoop: Arden Cho Joins Season 3B as Beacon Hills' New Student -- and Threat?!

Arden will be joining the second half of the hit series' third season next year in a "heavy recurring role" for a major, multi-episode arc. Not a lot of specific details about her character, but according to the show's producer, the show's storyline will have "a heavy Asian influence." And that's where Ms. Cho's Korean/Japanese character comes in.

A new student at Beacon Hills High who is of Korean and Japanese descent, Cho's yet-to-be-named character's arrival to town brings a unique new history and a new threat steeped in Asian mythology to Teen Wolf. Translation: She'll be a pretty big deal in season 3B!

During Teen Wolf's panel at Comic-Con, executive producer Jeff Davis revealed that season 3B will have "a heavy Asian influence," one that he's "excited" will take the show in a new direction.

"We're heading into a new mythology based on the Kitsune myth, which some people might know a little bit about," he shared. "It is a very, very fascinating Japanese shapeshifter myth about the were-fox and the trickster spirit."
It sure sounds like Arden could be playing a kitsune -- or perhaps a Korean gumiho (nine-tailed fox)? Season 3B of Teen Wolf premieres in January on MTV. I've never watched this show, but maybe I'll actually tune in to see Arden transform into a shapeshifter fox thing.
