Welcome to BrookLin: Jeremy Lin is headed to the Nets

Jeremy Lin agrees to a three-year, $36 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets.

Put away your Hornets jerseys, kids. Jeremy Lin is headed back to New York City. Brooklyn, that is. Your favorite Asian American point guard has agreed to a three-year, $36 million deal with the Brooklyn Nets. The deal reportedly includes a trade kicker, bonuses and a player option for the third year.

Lin tweeted about joining the Nets on Friday morning:

Lin signed a two-year, $4.3 million deal with Charlotte last year, but activated the contract's early-termination option to explore free agency. In his single season with the Hornets, the 27-year-old Harvard alum averaged 11.7 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists over 26.3 minutes per game.

The move to Brooklyn reunites Lin with Nets coach Kenny Atkinson, who was his assistant coach with the Knicks back when that wild little period we know and remember as "Linsanity" jumped off. Lin gave Atkinson a lot of credit for his development as a player, so hopefully this reunion gets something special started again.
