CAAMFest Presents White Rabbit

Starring and co-written by Vivian Bang. Friday, May 11 at AMC Kabuki 8.

San Francisco film fans, this one's for you... Fresh from its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival, the wonderfully weird and delightful indie comedy White Rabbit is screening at CAAMFest. Co-written and starring Vivian Bang, and directed by Daryl Wein, the film follows Sophia, a Korean American performance artist trying find her voice amidst heartbreak and professional road bumps in modern Los Angeles.

It's screening Friday, May 11 at the AMC Kabuki 8 in Japantown. Here are some more details:

White Rabbit

Dressed in a white jumpsuit and armed with a microphone wired to a portable speaker, Sophia emphatically performs monologues in a supermarket, in a public park, and throughout a shopping mall while trying to make ends meet with odd jobs from TaskRabbit. Expressing herself through these multiple identities as an Asian American performance artist, she embarks on a journey to discover her path in life.

The voice of star and co-writer Vivian Bang resonates throughout the script as Sophia’s life is interrupted by a director asking her to perform a role in her “native dialect” and unrequited love initiated from chance meetings with a new friend. The struggles to be seen and heard as a Korean-born artist in modern Los Angeles become a rite of passage.
