Angry Reader of the Week: Anthony Ma

"My main thing is acting. And when I get bored or antsy I make films."

Hey, everybody! It is time to meet the Angry Reader of the Week, spotlighting you, the very special readers of this website. Over the years, I've been able to connect with a lot of cool folks, and this is a way of showing some appreciation and attention to the people who help make this blog what it is. This week's Angry Reader is Anthony Ma.

Who are you?

I'm Anthony Ma. Son of an amazing and powerful single mother. Fan of film, history and anything geek.

What are you?

I'm Chinese American with a lot of Taiwanese flavor. Although last time I checked, my DNA ancestry said I may be 30% Burmese.

Where are you?

Currently in my room in a cozy house at a dead end street located in San Gabriel, CA.

Where are you from?

I rep the 626 pretty hard. The land of Chinese signs and even more Chinese traffic. I was born and raised here specifically in Arcadia and Temple City.

What do you do?

My main thing is acting. And when I get bored or antsy I make films. And when I get lonely I run events with my community like the Taiwanese American Film Festival.

I'm currently starring in an upcoming feature film called Staycation premiering at the LA Film Festival. You'll also catch me on the new seasons of S.W.A.T. and Mom. And I'm getting ready to film a few Asian American centered comedy sketches due Lunar New Year.

I'm also in the middle of research for my passion project centered on the stories surrounding the Vincent Chin case.

What are you all about?

I'm all about my family, friends and self improvement. At this moment I'm about giving up things that don't improve the situation. Whether that'd be something within myself (ie. anger, anxiety) or things outside (ie. bad people, bad boba).

What makes you angry?

Stubborn narrow minded-ness. As well as bullies. Also anger makes me angry.

I believe there's always room for better listening and understanding; being angry and stubborn always gets in the way.
