Among the twenty-five films selected this year for the Library of Congress' National Film Registry are
The Curse of Quon Gwon (1916-17), the earliest known Chinese-American feature; and
Daughter of Shanghai (1937), starring Asian American movie star Anna May Wong. A place on the annual listalways made up of 25 filmsguarantees the film will be preserved under the terms of the National Film Preservation Act:
