Here's an article on the film
Crossing the Line, Daniel Gordon's documentary on James Joseph Dresnok, an American deserter who has been living in North Korea since he defected in 1962:
Deserter film offers glimpse of a life in N.Korea. The guy literally ran across a minefield to his new life, eventually becoming a star of North Korean cinema by depicting evil Americans in young Kim Jong-Il's propaganda movies. The film sounds pretty fascinating, rounding out Daniel Gordon's trilogy of films about North Korea. I saw his documentary
Game of Their Lives a few years back, about North Korea's 1966 World Cup soccer team, and thought it was great. I found it, as well as
A State of Mind, available on DVD
