This weekend at the former site of the Tanforan racetrack in San Bruno, CA, there was a reunion of Japanese Americans babiesnow parents and grandparentswho were born in makeshift barracks between April and October 1942, before being shipped off to remote federal internment camps:
Internee babies of Tanforan. The site is now a shopping mall. The reunion served to remind people of the injustices that the internees experienced and to honor the many who have died as well as the survivors. Never forget!
