super mario was an immmigrant too
Interesting... A new video game, ICED!, apparently lets players step into the shoes of foreigners who run afoul of the U.S. immigration system: Video game lets players be immigrants. For example, you can be a Japanese computer science student who fails to take a full load of university classes and loses his student visa. Or a 10th-grade Indian girl who is detained because of high school essay she wrote on the Department of Homeland Security. This ain't World of Warcraft. The game is from Breakthrough, an international human rights organization that uses media and popular culture to promote social change, and the gameplay and characters are based on actual situations. I don't really play video games, but I might actually be curious enough to give this one a try. And this sounds a hell of a lot better than those games where you have to catch/kill illegal immigrants. The game is scheduled to be available as a free download next month.
