This story is heartbreaking. Last week in Alameda, CA, 15-year-old Ichinkhorloo "Iko" Bayarsaikhan was killed after being shot in the back while hanging out with friends in a park:
Slain girl's parents talk passionately of their grief. She was apparently the victim of an attempted robbery by a group of teenage boys who fled on an AC Transit bus. Iko came with her family to the United States from Mongolia three years ago, and had dreams of one day becoming an overseas journalist. Dreams cut short. Yesterday, Alameda police arrested three teenage boys from Oakland, ages 15, 16 and 17, in connection with the shooting:
3 teens arrested in girl's slaying. Juveniles or not, I hope they get what's coming to them.
