Fans of Stephen Chow's kickass martial arts comedies Kung Fu Hustle
and Shaolin Soccer might be interested to know that a pseudo-sequel to Shaolin Soccer has been in the works. I knew that Chow had been busy at work on his sci-fi/fantasy movie CJ7, but I guess there's also another installment of the massively successful Soccer coming up. But here's the catch. While Shaolin Girl is an official, Chow-approved follow-up to Shaolin Soccer, it's not a direct a sequel. The movie is now a Japanese production, and the lead character now is a lacrosse-playing girl. Thus, Shaolin Girl. View the teaser trailer here. I actually think it looks halfway decent.
