sushi chef gunned down in robbery

Last week in Southern California, authorities were searching for a gunman who killed 42-year-old sushi chef Jason Wei, owner of Osaka Ya restaurant in Arcadia, during an attempted robbery: Robber guns down Sushi restaurant owner. According to police, Wei suffered a single gunshot wound to the torso. Surveillance footage reveals that the suspect entered the restaurant carrying a handgun and confronted several workers. During the robbery, the suspect fired a shot from the handgun, striking Wei, and fled on foot with $200. The shooter was described by police as a Hispanic or light-skinned Black male, last seen wearing dark clothing with a dark jacket and dark colored beanie cap. Detectives say they need the public's help to find the suspect. Anyone with information on the crime or whereabouts of the gunman was asked to call Det. Dan Crowther at (626) 574-5149 or Det.
