titans fire norm chow
Aw man. The Tennessee Titans have fired offensive coordinator Norm Chow after three years with the team: Titans fire offensive coordinator Chow after three seasons
The day after the Tennessee lost an AFC wild-card game to San Diego, Titans coach Jeff Fisher said that improving offense was his top priority this offseason. I guess that meant the first order of business was cutting Norm loose.
Tennessee ranked 21st overall in total offense and became the first team with only nine touchdown passes to reach the playoffs in a 16-game season. After a week of evaluating the team, Fisher told Chow he wouldn't be retained as offensive coordinator.
Big bummer for Norm, who had quite a bit of success with USC before joining the Titans' coaching staff in 2005. Since then, his name has been mentioned as a candidate for head coach positions for several schools, but none of them worked out, I guess. So what's next for Norm? It seems that UCLA is interested in talking to him: Chow on UCLA's radar after his firing by Titans.
In other football news, the Chicago Bears have promoted Lloyd Lee from assistant to linebackers coach, taking over for Hardy Nickerson, who resigned last week: Bears promote Lee to LB coach. Nice, Lloyd.
