13-year-old swimmer on track for the olympics

Here's a cool New York Times profile on teen swimmer Lia Neal, who has been setting swimming records since the age of 10. Earlier this year, she shattered a 23-year-old record in her age group—56.87 seconds in the 100-meter freestyle—to qualify for the U.S. Olympic swim trials in Omaha, Nebraska this June. Not bad for a kid who turned 13 last month: 13-Year-Old Blazes a Lane in Swimming’s Olympic Pool. A lot of folks have been calling her the Tiger Woods of her sport, I suppose because her father is African American and her mother Asian. But I think we'll soon be calling her the Tiger Woods of her sport because, well, she rocks at swimming.
