Yesterday at Columbia University, hundreds gathered for a candlelight vigil to mourn Minghui Yu, the 24-year-old graduate student who was struck by a car and killed last week while fleeing attackers:
Students Mourn Minghui Yu at Candlelight Vigil. He was apparently a popular, well-liked student, so this has definitely been a shock to the community. The University is currently working with Senator Chuck Schumer to bring Yu's parents, who live in China, to the United States as soon as possible by expediting the process of obtaining visas. Unfortunately, what awaits them when they do arrive is the sorrow and sober reality that their son is dead, and was killed senselessly.
