Some reconfiguring for the University of Southern California's football coaching staff... Last week, coach Pete Carroll promoted Rock Seto to defensive coordinator: Pete Carroll promotes Rocky Seto to defensive coordinator.
He fills the post of former defensive coordinator Nick Holt, who took the job at Washington (where Seto was actually initially offered the job, but turned down). A former linebacker himself, Seto has been on USC's coaching staff since 1999.
In other football fire/hire news, the Chicago Bears have fired linebacker coach Lloyd Lee, the latest move after the team finished 9-7 and missed the playoffs for the second straight year: Bears fire linebackers coach.
Lee, who joined the team in 2004, was in his first year as linebackers coach. He spent his first two seasons as a defensive quality control coach and assisted with the linebackers in 2006 and defensive backs last season. Hopefully, he'll find a job elsewhere in the NFL.
