miley cyrus "apologizes" for chink-eye photo ...again

Oh, you've got to be kidding me. I guess Miley Cyrus got an inkling of an idea that perhaps her half-assed apology for the now-infamous "chink-eye" photo was insufficient, and it might actually take more than lame excuses about "goofy faces" to undo the flap over the photo.

So Miley follows up with another apology, this time sounding slightly more, you know, apologetic... but still pretty damn lame. Personally, I think it's still half-assed. Maybe quarter-assed. Who does she think she's kidding:
Something I Want You To Know

I want to thank all of my fans for their support not only this week, but always! I really wanted to stress how sorry I am if the photo of me with my friends offended anyone.

I have learned a valuable lesson from this and know that sometime my actions can be unintentionally hurtful. I know everything is a part of GODs ultimate plan, and mistakes happen so that eventually I will become the woman he aspires me to be.
What is it with this conditional, "sorry if you were offended" nonsense? Why do celebrity fools always say bullshit like this? Doesn't that just bring us back to where we started in the first place? Miley obviously doesn't think she did anything wrong -- she's just sorry that we think she did. That's not an apology.

How about just admitting that what you did was wrong? That, yes, you were goofing around, but indeed making fun of Asian eyes. And that it was, without condition, offensive and hurtful. A racist gesture. Why not take some freaking responsibility for your actions and be done with it? I guess that's too much to ask.
