tracking down the kogi truck

If you live in the Los Angeles area, you've probably heard of current meals-on-wheels craze that everyone's been talking about: Kogi, where the tastes of Korean barbecue meet the Mexican taco truck. The perfect late-night treat after night of bar-hopping. It doesn't get more "L.A." than this: Kogi Korean BBQ, a taco truck brought to you by Twitter.

But to find the Kogi truck, you have to be in the know -- on Twitter. A constant Twitter feed tells you where it's going to be on a given night, down to the hour. It's sort of like a roving party, serving up juicy grilled meats to eager truck-followers who line up around the block for a taste of something delicious.

I know what you're thinking -- why didn't I think of that? This mobile meal goodness is the brainchild of Mark Manguera, who brought in former RockSuger chef Roy Choi, and enlisted the help of family and friends to start blogging, branding and Twittering on Kogi's behalf. Check out this cool video on Roy Choi and the Kogi operation.

Since launching last November, the Kogi truck movement has taken the L.A. street food scene by storm, drawing lines of 300 to 800 people each time it parks. They've turned it into a full-fledged foodie phenomenon. Check out the Kogi website here, and follow the Kogi Twitter feed here.
