No freaking way. Here's one way to deal with the Miley Cyrus "chink eye" photos. Now, why didn't I think of this? TMZ reports that a Los Angeles woman, Lucie J. Kim, has actually filed a class action lawsuit against Miley Cyrus, claiming she did indeed mock Asians in the photo.
Kim, who says she represents more than 1 million Asian Pacific Islander Americans who live in L.A. County, insists that when Miley posed for the photo, she "knew or should have known that her image would be publicly disseminated via the media, which Cyrus knew focuses on her private life..."
According to the suit, each APIA person in L.A. County is entitled to the minimum damages for a civil rights violation -- $4,000. (Can you really put a price tag on racial mockery?) Add it all up, that $4 billion! TMZ's got the details here: Asians Want $4 Billion From Miley Cyrus.
I've never thought of actually suing the idiots who pull this kind of stuff. Let's be honest here... My knowledge of law is limited, but who really thinks this lawsuit is going to hold water? I get it, and I love where it's coming from, but I'm doubtful. Still, it's fun to watch Miley Cyrus squirm.
