Asians Behaving Badly... tax fraud edition! But not just any kind of tax fraud -- this is tax fraud perpetuated by an actual IRS agent. This week, Jim H. Liu, an IRS agent whose job entailed conducting audits of taxpayers, plead guilty to a federal charge of cheating on his own taxes: IRS agent pleads guilty in tax fraud.
Oh, the irony. According to the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles, Liu signed court papers admitting that he filed a false tax return for 2002 that cheated the government out of nearly $15,000. The tax fraud charge carries a penalty of up to three years in federal prison. Gotcha, sucka. Cheaters never prosper.
