This is a horrifying story out of Australia... 15-year-old Brenda Lin's family was murdered while she was overseas on a school trip. The worst part, she learned about their deaths from a Facebook post: Girl learned on Facebook of familys murder.
Min and Yun Li "Lilly" Lin, their sons Henry, 12, and Terry, 9, and Brenda's aunt Yun Bin "Irene" Yin, were bludgeoned to death while asleep at the family's home in North Epping, Sydney, on July 18.
A friend apparently posted the news on Brenda's Facebook page. Brenda had been due to arrive home from a one-week school trip to New Caledonia on July 20, but as a result of the news, the group returned a day earlier.
It sounds rather tactless, but since she was out of the country, it might've been the quickest and easiest way to reach her. Who know? One hopes that it was a direct message, and not just a random post on Brenda's "wall."
