An autopsy has confirmed that the body found yesterday stuffed inside the wall of a Yale laboratory building is that of 24-year-old missing graduate student Annie Le, as suspected: Yale Student Annie Le's Body Found, Police Confirm.
The medical examiner's office has officially classified her death as a homicide. The cause of death isn't being released "to facilitate the investigation." A police spokesman said that her murder "doesn't appear to be a random act," suggesting that Le had been singled out: Yale Killing Not a 'Random Act,' Police Say.
Meanwhile, at least two news agencies are reporting that police have a suspect connected to Le's murder. The university is organizing a candelight vigil at 8:00pm tonight in memory of Ms. Le. She is remembered by friends as "a bubbly, outgoing girl who was never afraid to challenge the views of her teachers and other students in class": California classmate recalls Annie Le as smart, 'spunky.'
