Asian Arts Initiative Launches New Open Mic Series

WHO: New-York-based musicians Taiyo Na and Magnetic North, and dynamic spoken word duo Yellow Rage (Michelle Myers and Catzie Vilayphonh), featured in 2001 on HBO's Russell Simmons Def Poetry Jam
WHAT: FAMILY STYLE: Asian Arts Initiative launches a new monthly open mic series, a family-friendly, positive space that honors Asian American artists and extended “family” from all communities and cultures. Each month's open mic will be hosted by Yellow Rage and include a featured artist and a specific theme.
This Friday, October 16, 2009, Asian Arts Initiative is pleased to welcome featured artists Taiyo Na and Magnetic North for "Tongue-ticular: A Celebration of Food, Language, Song and Other Things that Tickle the Tongue."
