Ooooh yes. Virgin America is apparently now serving banh mi -- Vietnamese sandwiches -- on its in-flight menu: Banh Mi Added to Virgin America's Menu. Yes, banh mi has officially hit the big time. Trendy.
You can enjoy a flat iron steak sandwich with cucumber, lettuce, cilantro, and a daikon-carrot slaw, plus "Asian ginger dressing" -- from the discomfort of your airplane seat at 32,000 feet. Makes me want to fly Virgin more often.
Sure, airplane food is still airplane food -- how good could it really be? But I'd take a Vietnamese sandwich over plain old ham and cheese any day. More here: Vietnamese Mile High Club.
