delivery man jumps out of moving car to escape robbers

Another delivery man attacked... Last week in Long Island, two teenagers beat and robbed a Chinese food delivery man before blindfolding him and driving off with him in the backseat of his own car: 2 Teens Arrested for Robbery, Imprisonment.

Gao Ji, a delivery man working at Dah Wah Chinese Kitchen in Wyandanch, was bringing food to a home on Locust Drive at 11:30pm when he was attacked, beaten and robbed of $100 and the food he was carrying.

According to police, sixteen-year-olds Jeron Thompson and Amber Edey handcuffed and blindfolded Ji, put him in the backseat of his car and drove off. I don't know what they were intending to do with him, but it couldn't be good, and Ji apparently wasn't intending on sticking around to find out.

While the they were driving, the teens made a sharp turn at an intersection in Wheatley Heights. That's when Ji made his harrowing escape. He kicked the rear door open, rolled out of the moving vehicle, ran to a nearby house and called police. He was taken to the hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries.

After crashing Ji's car at an intersection, Thompson and Edey were arrested and charged with robbery and unlawful imprisonment. Police are seeking further help from an unknown witness who saw Ji escape from the moving vehicle. That person is asked to call the first squad at 631-854-8177.
