Bad news for Baltimore Ravens safety Haruki Nakamura... Just six seconds into Monday night's game against the Cleveland Browns, Nakura suffered a broken right ankle and had to be carried off the field: Ravens' Nakamura breaks ankle on opening kickoff.
He was injured on the opening kickoff when teammate L.J. Smith knocked Browns kick returner and wide receiver Joshua Cribbs into Nakamura. He immediately grabbed his lower right leg in obvious pain, and offficials brought on a cart to take Nakamura off the field.
The Ravens have placed Nakamura on injured reserve, ending his 2009 season. That's a tough break (no pun intended) for Nakamura, who was having a nice season for the Ravens' special teams unit.
And you know what really sucks? Nakamura, who is originally from Cleveland, had several friends and family members attending the game Monday night as his guests, including his mother. Ouch. Talk about the last thing you want to see when your son is playing. More here: Haruki Nakamura carried off.
