Don't want to forget that over the holidays, Margaret Chin was officially sworn into New York's City Council, making her the first Asian American to represent Manhattan's Chinatown, and the first Asian American woman elected to the city council: Chin sworn in as she readies to take office.
Chin, who first ran for city council nearly twenty years ago, and has had numerous unsuccessful bids since then, finally won the seat this past November in a landslide victory. Her supporters celebrated last week with a big ol' sparkly party: Chin Takes Oath at Sparkling Celebration.
