all across america: 2010 census family portrait contest
The photos continue! Everybody's been sending in some great stuff from all over Asian America. Even Hello Kitty. Big props to the big Taiwanese American group I met briefly this weekend at the ITASA Conference party in Austin. Keep those photos coming. What am I talking about? Find out (and see more photos)...
In an effort to increase awareness about the Census, we're doing a little giveaway. This week, send me a photo of you (and/or members of your household -- mom, dad, the kids, the whole family!) holding up your Census form, like in the photos above. If you've already sent in your form, hold up a sign that says "I COUNT" or "WE COUNT." (We'll operate on the honor system. I trust you.)
Every day, I'll try to post the photos here (depending on how many I actually receive), to create a fun little Census family portrait gallery. At the end of the week, I'll pick ten entries at random. The lucky winners will receive a limited edition Angry Asian Man t-shirt, courtesy of our pal Jerry Ma at Epic Proportions. (Sorry, one t-shirt prize per household.)
Email me your photo by the end of Thursday, April 1, along with your name, mailing address and t-shirt size (Epic has women's sizes too). Please include "MY CENSUS PHOTO" in the subject line. Good luck, spread the word, and make sure you send in those Census forms! For more information about APIs and the 2010 Census, go to API Count and Fill in Our Future.
