Lt. Dan Choi, has become one of the leading voices speaking out against the U.S. military's ban on gays, has been arrested after handcuffing himself to a White House fence to protest "Don't Ask Don't Tell": Lt. Dan Choi Arrested After Handcuffing Himself To A White House Gate.
Choi led a group of about a hundred protestors in Washington D.C. He had been a Human Rights Campaign rally, and announced to the crowd that he was going to the White House to chain himself to the gates. And then that's what he did.
According to reports, police officers had blocked the gates of the White House with yellow tape and pushed back the protesters, who recited the Pledge of Allegiance and chanted slogans to repeal the policy.
I wouldn't worry too much about Lt. Choi. He knows exactly what he's doing -- a guy like that doesn't chain himself to anything without knowing exactly what he's getting into. But I have to ask -- Kathy Griffin, where were you? More, including video and photos, here: Choi Arrested at White House Gates.
