archie panjabi wins best supporting actress emmy
Well, this was unexpected. The big winners at last night's Emmy Awards were Mad Men and Modern Family, but before the night was over, one fresh-faced actress also walked away with a trophy: Archie Panjabi, who won Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama for her role as Kalinda in CBS' The Good Wife: 'Modern Family' and 'Mad Men' take top Emmy awards.
I think it was a pretty big surprise -- The Good Wife is a first season show and Archie Panchabi is a relative newcomer to Hollywood (she hails from London) and first-time nominee in a crowded field of veterans. And let's be real -- she was really one of the few hints of ethnic diversity in the acting categories.
I haven't watched the show regularly, but based on what I've seen of The Good Wife, Ms. Panchabi's character Kalinda Sharma seems pretty cool. Now, I'm looking forward to seeing more of her on the show. More here: Archie Panjabi on character Kalinda's honesty, mystery.
