Here's another article on the new Charlie Chan book that hit bookstores last week... Charlie Chan: The Untold Story of the Honorable Detective and His Rendezvous with American History by Yunte Huang examines the real life inspiration for the fictional sleuth, as well as the character's troubling legacy in literature and film: Book aims to redefine Charlie Chan for Asian-Americans.

I actually received my copy of the book in the mail, but I haven't had the chance to crack it open yet. It sounds pretty interesting, and I've read some fairly positive reviews, though I've also encountered a couple of discouraging ones too. I'll let you know what I think...
