jaccc's the power of community video contest

Here's a cool opportunity for young Asian American filmmakers... The Japanese American Cultural & Community Center in Los Angeles has partnered up with Nissan to present the The Power of Community Video Contest, calling on you to create a 60-second video about the power and importance of your community. Here are some more details:

Contest Rules:
We are looking for the best 60-second video that visually and creatively completes the phrase "The power of community is..." Videos may be in any genre (narrative, documentary, experimental, etc.) and will be judged based on overall message, creativity, and ability to convey the ideals of the mission statement above. This competition is free and open to anyone. All entries must be submitted by November 30, 2010 to:

Prize:
The 1st place video will receive a $1,000 cash prize and will be shown to hundreds of people at an outdoor film screening in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles in the summer of 2011. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place videos will also be streamed on the web.
The submission deadline is November 30. You could win a thousand bucks! Just pick up a video camera and get to work. For more information about the contest, go to the JACCC website here.

UPDATE: The submission deadline has been extended to January 31.
