aaww presents my mom is a fob book bash, january 4

If you're in New York, the Asian American Writers' Workshop invites you to attend a celebration of Teresa Wu and Serena Wu's newly published book version of their excellent and hilarious blog, My Mom is a Fob, affectionately dedicated to the fobbiness of all our mothers.

To kick off the book launch, they're gathering esteemed writers Jennifer 8. Lee, Ed Lin and Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai to share stories of their favorite mother moments. Should be a really fun evening. It's happening Tuesday, January 4 at the Asian American Writers' Workshop. Here are some more details:
My Mom is a Fob Book Bash

Tuesday, January 4
7:00pm - 10:00pm

The Asian American Writers' Workshop
112 W 27th Street, Ste 600
New York, NY

Does your mom leave desperate voicemails asking you to "please pick up phone? hello? are you there?" or take twenty-four more napkins than she needs at Taco Bell? Your mom may be a fob. What began in 2008 as a blog featuring endearing and nosy texts and emails from Teresa Wu and Serena Wu's mothers has evolved into a collective archive of all our delightfully fobby mothers. We'll be kicking off the book version of My Mom is a Fob with Teresa and Serena over tasty booze and bao. Ring in a beer-filled mother's day early this year as performers Ed Lin, Kelly Zen-Yie Tsai, and Jennifer 8. Lee share stories of their favorite mother-moments.

The authors were kind enough to send me an advance galley copy of the book a couple of months ago, and it's a funny, loving, and sometimes hilariously embarrassing tribute to our fobby mothers. My Mom is a Fob: Earnest Advice in Broken English from Your Asian-American Mom is available everywhere now, including Amazon.
