the house of suh screening at upenn, february 21


This is for my friends in Philadelphia. The amazing documentary The House of Suh, directed by Iris Shim, will be screening this week at the University of Pennsylvania.

The award-winning film tells the story of a Korean immigrant family whose pursuit of the American dream ends in the ultimate tragedy. It's happening on Monday, February 21 at UPenn, Huntsman F95. Here are some more details:

Meet the producer and director of this film and join PAACH’s Student Planning Committee and SPEC Connaissance to watch this award-winning documentary.

This free event will begin with the film screening at 5.30pm in Huntsman F95, followed by a Penn faculty panel that includes Dr. June Chu and Dr. Sonya Gwak.

The discussion will touch on Psychology, Sociology -- please come if anything like this appeals to you.

Both director Iris Shim and producer Gerry Kim will be in attendance, joining faculty members for a post-screening discussion. So that's a free screening of a riveting, powerful documentary, a thoughtful discussion, and of course, free food.
