three arrested in vancouver machete attack on korean students

Holy crap. Some insane-ass news out of Canada... In Vancouver, authorities have arrested three young men for a brutal machete attack on two exchange students from Korea: Charges laid in Vancouver machete attack.

The victims were waiting with friends at the Lonsdale Quay bus loop near the Seabus terminal in North Vancouver when they were approached by three young men who demanded money before attacking them with a knife and a machete:
One of the Korean students was slashed in the head, leaving a gash that required 25 stitches and staples to close.

On Jan. 31, police tracked down and arrested three suspects.

They are facing aggravated assault and possible robbery charges, as well as breach of parole conditions.

They have been identified as 18-year-old Blair Benedict, 18-year-old Christopher Lambert, both of North Vancouver, and a 17-year-old Surrey resident.

The students are recovering from the attack and have returned to Korea, said police.
Glad to hear the victims are okay, and the cops caught the guys who did this. But damn, a machete attack to the head? Sorry your trip to Vancouver sucked so much, guys. Hopefully, next time it won't involve any sharp objects. More here: Three arrested after machete attack on Korean student.
