Last night, ABC announced the new cast of Dancing With The Stars, and the "stars" include a Karate Kid, a Playboy bunny, a professional wrestler... and former Super Bowl MVP Hines Ward of the Pittsburgh Steelers: Hines Ward, Ray Leonard, Chris Jerich on 'DWTS.'
For those who don't regularly watch the show, Dancing With The Stars pairs celebrity contestants with professional dancers in a ballroom dancing competition. The varying measures of what counts as "celebrity" is debatable.
The competitors perform dances that are scored by a panel of three judges -- including Carrie Anne Inaba -- and then voting is opened up for viewers at home. The judges' scores are combined with the viewers' votes to determine which pair of dancers is eliminated each week.
Hines Ward is in pretty good company -- athletes have done particularly well on the past. Previous DWTS champions include NFL Hall of Famer Emmitt Smith, IndyCar driver Helio Castroneves and Olympic gold medalists Apolo Anton Ohno, Kristi Yamaguchi and Shawn Johnson. Other NFL stars have also done well.
The two-hour premiere of Dancing With The Stars is March 21 on ABC.
