This is short notice, but if you're in the Bay Area this weekend... ASPIRE (Asian Students Promoting Immigrant Rights through Education), the first Asian Pacific Islander undocumented student group in the U.S. of its kind, is hosting its first conference Our DREAMs Can't Wait.
This conference is intended for API undocumented youth and allies to come together and discuss how to support each other and lift immigration as a significant issue in our community. It's happening Saturday, October 1 at UC Berkeley Student Learning Center. Here are some more details:

We are excited to invite you to our first conference "Our DREAMs Can’t Wait," on Asian American immigrant youth issues. This conference is intended for API undocumented youth and allies to come and discuss how we can support each other and share resources for teachers and counselors to better understand our community.
The conference will be on Saturday October 1st 2011 at UC Berkeley from 9:00AM to 4:30PM.
Workshops include: Entering and succeeding in higher education as an undocumented student,how to tell your story, Asian American youth activism, Education not deportation/know your rights, Scholarships 101, and many more!
We hope you can join us for this exciting conference. It will be a great opportunity to network, hear from undocumented students, and share resources.
