For fans who have worn out their copy of Free Wired, rest assured that plans are in full effect for Far East Movement to release their sophomore album with Cherry Tree early next year: Far East Movement Peg Early 2012 for Second Album.
The group has been hard at work on new material and promises a "heavy trunk bass sound for the dance floor." I barely know what that means, but it apparently sounds good in an old school car, and they actually bought a 1989 Cadillac limo to test it out: Far East Movement Has a New Ride.
OC Weekly: Tell us about your new ride.My questions: what are the FM guys going to call their stereo-supercharged new ride? The Animal? The Rocketeer? The Far East Mover?
Kev Nish: It's a 1989 Cadillac limo. We're decking it out with an Alpine sound system with 12-inch subwoofers, and testing all our music in it. If it sounds right in the car, it'll sound right on the album.
It's gonna be the car that represents FM. Batman has the Batmobile, Redbull has the Redbull cars. Far East Movement needed a mobile. If we ever get invited to the Grammys, this is what we'll roll up in.
While you wait for the new album, if you're in Southern California, you can catch Far East Movement headlining the ISA Festival this Saturday, October 1 at Harry Bridges Memorial Park in Long Beach. And to keep up with what's going with Far East Movement, go to their official website here.
