Been rocking this album for the better part of a month... Check out As Serenity Approaches, the recent released album from Los Angeles beat maker/ producer/turntablist Descry. Solid hip hop. It's albums like that get me excited about taking chances on new music, again and again. Here's a handy Bandcamp widget with a preview of the album:
Aside from a few scattered remixed tracks here and there, I wasn't too familiar with Descry's work before hearing this. Count me as a new fan.
